Bart's PE Builder 3.1.10a
Most of use Windows on our system without any problems at all. We never get any serious virus issues, our hard drive doesn’t fail and we don’t lose important data. However, it happens. It also happens when we least expect to lost our system data. One evening you could be working on your dissertation (without making any backups, as you’ve been working like that for years), the next morning your system simply will not boot. As your system drive contains all your work data, do you re-install Windows, do you attempt to salvage your data or do you simply hope it will fix itself?
One option is to prepare yourself for this or similar scenarios by creating a bootable system repair and analysis tool. You could then boot in to this tool and either grab data from your existing hard drive – by-passing Windows. You’d simply load another operating system, grab your important data and re-install Windows. This process would take less than a couple of hours.
The key is to create and prepare a bootable system repair and analysis CD. Bart’s Preinstalled Environment (Bart’s PE) is a comprehensive self-contained bootable system analysis and repair disc. You simply burn the contents to a CD and, if you have a system fault, boot in to the CD.
The CD uses components from your Windows XP installation CD (so you’ll require this disc to boot your bootable CD) and will support NTFS file systems.
